Tone asked:

Over five years ago, I worked for a large company that required full background checks. The HR mgr gave me a copy of my background report. She advised me to investigate if I was a victim of ID theft because the credit history part of my report listed someone’s name who had used my SS#. This individual lived in a state I’d never lived in before.
When I ordered all three of my credit reports, not one of them showed this individual on my credit file. Everything else was accurate except for the person not being listed.
The company I worked for has been out of business for years. The screening company they used provided me with the most detailed information than any of the 3 credit bureaus comprehensive reports. I want to see if I can order my own background check.
Which companies are Human Resource managers using for full screenings?
