I am quite sure that he has given the courts proof of his income. his lawyer wouldn’t represent him otherwise. However the judge ruling is final.

It depends on your state and what they set the amount to be. Not everyone is entitled to a free lawyer (you are not denied one if you can not afford it but if you have the money the government will not pick up the bill), if he lied about his income he will be facing another trial and jail

The dogs that have the highest statistics for fighting should have stricter laws on adopting/selling them. A license should be obtained, a criminal backround check should be done on potential owners and it should be similar to gun owners. The dog should be registered to the owner so that if in the unfortunante case a dog is found in the horrible conditions fighting dogs are found in, or a dog attacks or is caught fighting, it will be tracked to the owner via microchip or licensing whatever ways they tag dogs now and that way someone will be held responsible, even if they had given the dog away.

Don’t treat people who support dog fighting like heroes or stars. They are criminals and should be treated as such.

Don’t support the business. And I think this goes beyond dog fighting itself. There are plenty of other things going on that relates to it: drug abuse (of the dogs and people), gambling, etc.

When you see animal abuse call someone on it, specifically your local law enforcement.

This is an indication of society and what we are becoming. If there is noone to watch the sport or put their pets through it, it will die a natural death. We need to go to the root of the problem, those caught should explain why they do this. The punishment should be severe but until we know why, we wont know how to stop it.

Every company I have worked for, even if they have separate security, fall to the HR department. Especially if an employee is involved in a fight or anything. HR will be the deciding factor if the employee will be fired, disciplined, or sent to jail. they are the ones that know what needs to be done legally. They have policies to follow. In your case the Consultant probably is surveying the company to tell the owners what policies need to be instated and if any new changes need to be made. He is most likely a contract employee and will not be around forever.

I say keep a tab on every potential fighting dog..or maybe you should have a license to own a pitbull?
