Hallelujah-Hollaback! asked: I live in the state of Georgia and I am getting ready to file a stress claim against my employer due to my livelihood being affected by the amount of work I am expected to do without any assistance! I work in HR and I’m responsible for almost 300 employees singlehandedly. I take care of everything from worker’s comp, benefits, orientation, employee relations, billing, EVERYTHING. Because we also have employees that are out of state, I feel like I’m being pulled in a thousand different directions. I recently received my evaluation which turned out to be all derogatory. I received my eval in my chair and I am a HR Professional working for an attorney. I have been nauseaus and feeling depressed about going to work. I do EVERYTHING here and for the level of responsibility I have and the number of people I have to make sure I’m taking care of I feel like I’ve been taken advantage of. I am overwhelmed. How do I start my claim and how do I make all my points clear?

I love animals, but I’m majoring in human resource management. I was just wondering if there was any way I could combine the two in a career?

Guam Mom asked:
I am conducting an unofficial survey to determine the cost to relocate from Guam, where the cost of living is high, to Hawaii, where the cost of living is also high. However, I do not know about the salary base in Hawaii (Not Oahu). Since HR is a broad field, this position could be in several industries, but probably in service, financial or tourism areas in Hilo and Kailua-Kona.

Why asked:
My boss is creating a lot of internal and external problems for other people in the workplace. It is so bad that GREAT-HARD workers are quitting left and right. I have not receive a share of this treatment yet, but I will soon enough the way the pattern is going.
I have always been told to things about Human Resources: 1. If you file a report about your boss, you are next to get fired. 2. Human Resources can’t help what they don’t know, so I have to come out with it, then sit in a long battle at a table facing my boss.
Right now this is not my problem…. should I wait until it is and how should I approach this matter?

nessadipity asked:
Well I have an interview with Continental Airlines in like 2 days… I do know the basics of the “do and dont do” But I need more tricks of the trade to definitely win the panel of HR personnel I’m going up against on-Everyone has told me to get KIKI WARD’s book which definitely will what everyone states will get me the job -But I can’t get the book due to every BORDERS I go to just doesnt have it and when I do find one that has it , it’ll take up to 3-4 days…Thats not good enough I have only 2 days…And i’m already freaken out !!! I even went to AMAZON and they have 4 books left but it will take them 3-4 days for shipment and thats the fastest shipping they can do. So anyway my question(s) are is there anyone who is a flight attendant that works for CONTINENTAL or any other airline that can give me more tricks of the trade to win over the panel of HR personnel and also if anyone has kiki ward’s book to scan the overview for me of Continental. That would be most appreciated.

cannonball asked:
Man, every place I have worked at it is the same deal. They almost all speak in a sweet tone but what they are saying is the opposite of the tone. It’s like they say ***** you with a smile. Men are much better on that type of job. They are generally more straight shooters and don’t get hyper or moody. If only more men worked in human resources in corporations. Man, these women are ruthless. Trying to lowball you on everything. At least men in human resources sometimes give you the benefit of the doubt and are easy to talk to. I even got fired from a place a few years back from a major corporation. The woman in human resources was nothing more than a pawn of management. She held the company line on everything. I knew I would win the unemployment case (because I was a former adjudicator and knew the law) and I did. Even the unemployment adjudicator laughed when I told her how inflexible human resources was about the situation. She thought it was ridiculous.
